Hey,
Updating much more frequently now... But the road trips hit a snag!
My buddy flipped his SUV yesterday (story coming later on), so we've got to go to Plan B for the road-trip-mobile.
Thinking RV, thoughts?
Keeping you updated, and more details soon.

Procrastinate Much?
Hey,
Well, in keeping with the spirit of this road trip... I've completely lost track of time, and neglected the ever-loving shit out of Twitter and this blog.
I don't have a bunch of time, so I'm just going to be brief and let you know what's been going on lately:
1) Set up a Google Maps for the trip. Daily updates on that bad-boy should let you know where we're at 24/7. (Plus we'll toss a picture or two up every day you won't see anywhere else, and it gives you a way to contact us directly)
2) Got a couple of cool surprises in store for the future. I don't really want to ruin them now, but I can promise some candid photos with a few - choice - "endorsements", if you will. (If the first couple hours of my friend pitching this new idea to me are any indication.... Fuck! It's so good, I'd feel like an asshole for saying any more)
Other than that, just finishing up work so I can meet up with Brendan and Garrett a week early to plan and plot the supplies for the trip.
Almost forgot - We're looking to do a little hiking / camping overnight for maybe 1 or 2 nights, somewhere along this adventure. Do you know a camp-spot that's got water ripe for fishing / swimming, as well as some good hiking?
I know it's pretty specific, and kinda tree-hugger (I say that with a lot of love ;-) ) so I'd really appreciate your .02 cents on the topic.
As always, keep in touch and let me know what you're up to: Email, Twitter, or comments.

27 Days To Go!
Let me be frank here: I'm fucking excited for this trip.
This is going to be the best road-trip I've ever heard of, because it has a design I've wanted to put into action for years now.
We're going to live this trip, strictly by the skin of our teeth. What do I mean? Simple:
Wake up each and every morning, find out where we're at, and hit the internet. Here's where the hundreds of amazing suggestions I've gotten, from people just like yourself, come in:
We're going to figure out what would be cool to do, do it, take pictures, jot down a few notes and stories... And share the experience with you. Right here. :-)
The only goal: Eventually see Los Vegas, and the beautiful West-Coast ocean. So you know there's bound to be at LEAST a handful of stories from Vegas, and some incredible adventures in Cali.
With only 27 Days to go, I'm starting to get geared up for the trip. Hey, help me out: What do you think are the absolute necessities for a great road-trip? I'm thinkin':
* Camera. Duh. Gotta take and share the pictures
* Laptop. For research and sharing stories.
* GPS. So we don't get lost in hick-town Kentucky and Texas Chainsaw Massacre'd.
(And if you're from Hicktown Kentucky... Fuckin' move. I'd apologize, but you need to get the fuck out of your town and see the world. I'm doing you a favor)
So... Hit up the comments, share any stories or whatever, and also - Tell us what you think we should pack-up for the perfect road trip. I'd love to hear what you have to say :-)
If the comments aren't your style, you can fire us an email, or hit us up on Twitter. Oh, and tell your friends about this trip, too. Share the love.
Anyways, talk to you in a few!

The Gameplan, and Welcome
Hey,
Glad you wound up here :) I got a couple dozen emails asking
what the deal was with this road-trip, so let me break it down
in a bit more detail:
For years, I've wanted to just drop it all. Leave work behind,
cut off the cell phone, grab a car with some gas and head out
wherever the world takes me. Think about it: No stress...
No responsibilities... And the world at your fingertips...
... In a word: Absolute Freedom.
(OK two words... Bite me ;-) )
But last year, everything changed. I decided to drop out of college,
and pick-up the illustrious, exciting career of being a writer.
Thankfully, I've been doing pretty well, and now I've got
even MORE free time than ever. January of this year, I decided
to finally ACT on this dream of mine, and hit the road this summer
... For at least a month.
I ran this by two of my best friends since I was five - Brendan and
Garrett, you'll meet them in a bit - And I was surprised when they
both said, "As soon as we graduate, let's hit the fuckin' road!"
Well... In one month, it's, as they so eloquently put...
... Time to hit the fuckin' road!
And that's where you come in.
I got a digital camera ready for the trip, and decided I wanted to create a blog to FILL with the amazing stories of road-trip adventures, pictures of places we see and people we meet, and to keep track of what's bound to be an incredible point in my life.
Then I thought about how I felt when I was dying to get a little time "away from it all" ... Just a little moment to myself.
I remembered the hundreds of people who said "I'd love to do that... But I can't get away from work, school, my family, whatever", when I shared my idea.
So I decided to create this blog for all of them... For you.
I want you to leave your 2-cents in the comments below each and every blog post, and follow us on twitter: www.Twitter.com/hellonwheelsrt. Tell me where we should go, where YOU'D love to go... adventures you want to see, stories you'd love to share, or moments you want to relive about YOUR past experiences "on the land".
I'm going to update this blog every couple of days before the trip, and every day once we hit the road. And you can share in our "childhood dream" of freedom, experience, and a little bit of mischievous adventure throw-in for good measure. ;-)
Thanks again for checking out our blog, and I'll give you a ton more info once I get a chance to settle in and get my bearings. I just want to ask you one favor:
Please, tell your friends.
Share this experience with them, and maybe you'll even inspire them into a little Hell-On-Wheels yourself.
Talk to you (very) soon.
Your friend,
- Alex

Holy Shit...
Hey :-)
Thanks for coming to check out Hell-On-Wheels. If you check out the header above^^^^^^ you'll get a good grip on what's going down.
Here's a little primer, in case you're new:
My name's Alex, and me and two of my closest buddies from childhood are going cross-country for three whole weeks, and basically living by the moment.
We tend to get into a little bit more trouble than your Average Joe, and this trip, we're aiming to let loose, have a bunch of fun, and really enjoy ourselves. So we'll be posting pictures and stories the whole time through.
I'd love for you to say hi. Send an email, and follow us on twitter.
Oh, and obviously, leave comments to your heart's content. I check those bad-boys daily, and you don't even have to leave a name. (For you stalkers out there ;-) )
It's gonna be a blast, and I can't wait to get started.
- Alex
